Gillian Jackson

Senior Manager – Data and Analytic

With a passion for data analytics and unearthing trends in data, Gillian Jackson was promoted to Senior Manager – Data and Analytics, in May 2022, to lead the Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Modelling functions for The Jamaica National Group. She continues as Project Stream Lead for Data and Analytics for Project Rubicon, which she was appointed to in September 2020.

Miss Jackson joined the Jamaica National Building Society in 2005 as an Administrative Assistant in the Retail and Merchandising Unit of Marketing. In 2008 she was promoted to Benefits Assistant in the Group Human Resource Department and in 2009 appointed to Performance Management Analyst. She moved into the Business Development Unit as Assistant Manager – Research in 2013, and in 2016, was appointed Research Manager/Senior Business Advisor.

She completed the BSc in Actuarial Science at The University of the West Indies and attended the University of Nebraska as a Fulbright Scholar, completing the MSc in Actuarial Science and Finance. She recently completed a Micromasters in Data Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Online. She has also completed certification examinations with the Society of Actuaries in a range of financial and actuarial subjects, as well as completed data analytics, data modelling, excel and other technical courses.

She is a Director of Intelex Systems Ltd., owners and operators of Mantock’s Guide, providers of online PEP examination preparation courses. She writes on various financial topics through her blog, FinancialCentsibility.com.

Miss Jackson has received a number of awards, which include the International Association of Black Actuaries Scholarship, Dean’s List at The University of the West Indies and the UWI Actuarial Society Award for Academic Excellence.
