Garvin Grandison
Head – Finance and Regulatory Reporting JN Bank
With over a decade of expertise in the areas of regulatory compliance and corporate finance, Garvin Grandison was promoted to the role of Head – Finance and Regulatory Reporting at JN Bank on August 1, 2023. He is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, primarily in the development of financial models and regulatory reporting expertise, ensuring the bank’s financial growth, stability and compliance.
He joined the JN family in 2017 as Assistant Manager in the Regulatory Reporting Unit of the Finance department, JN Bank, with responsibility to help with leadership, problem solving and ongoing training to ensure the accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports to several regulators, namely the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ).
A former Central Banker, Mr. Grandison formed part of the project team, as a subject matter expert, responsible for the successful implementation of the BOJ’s Jamaica Financial Institutions Reporting Management System (JamFIRMS) in 2016.
Mr. Grandison holds a MSc from Mona School of Business & Management in Corporate Finance along with a BSc in Banking and Finance from The University of the West Indies. He also holds Certifications in Basel Accords II/III, Project Management and AML/CFT, among others. He is currently pursuing the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst Designation offered by the Corporate Finance Institute.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Grandison is an active volunteer and has held executive positions in both the Optimist International Caribbean District organisation and the Calabar Old Boys’ Association since 2009 and 2011 respectively. Since 2023, he has been a contributor and collaborator with the JN Foundation’s Financial Academy aimed at improving financial literacy in Jamaica.
